PROVIDENCE -- The sign had the appearance of belonging, of being an official sign attached to a metal sign post. But, after closer examination, it was something different, an expression of hope in the best tradition of labor organizer Mother Jones.

It was the kind of street sign that might have been found by Uprise RI or perhaps by the Boston Globe's Dan McGowan, or maybe even WPRI's Steph Machado, which might have resulted in a larger play on Twitter and the news.

Still, the sign, hopefully, will have some staying power, and perhaps it can be found in other locations in Providence and across Rhode Island. If you see it, feel free to repost.
